Took inspiration for this page from Maya Avendaño because I thought it was very cool, then I find out that this is actually inspired by the Now page concept, and it made more sense. I like this idea of a dedicated page to give a "heads up" of your life, like if you were meeting a friend that you haven't seen in a while.

Where I am

Living, working, and creating in Guadalajara, Mexico.

The Main Focus: Becoming a Design Engineer

While my day job as a platform frontend developer remains stable, I am currently locking in on my transition into a Design Engineer. Because AI is now handling the heavy lifting of my daily engineering workflows, I finally have the time and mental space to merge my two biggest passions: development and design. I've always wanted to be a designer, and I'm incredibly excited to be building the knowledge and portfolio needed to land my dream role.

Life, Art & Finding Balance

I am actively breaking the habit of sitting at a desk for 12 hours a day (don't get me wrong, I could do it all day long). To stimulate my brain, build new neural pathways, and fuel my design work, I'm focusing heavily on a balanced, offline life:

  • Reclaiming my roots: I'm going back to the artistic hobbies I loved in high school, like playing guitar & drawing, to explore creativity outside a screen.
  • Health: Staying disciplined with my diet and physical fitness, getting back into Olympic weightlifting with my home setup.
  • Analog focus: Still dialing in my daily espresso extraction on the Bambino, and unwinding with pixel-art cross-stitching.

Current Projects & Community

  • Portfolio Redesign: Putting my design engineering focus to the test by building out a skeuomorphic "Skadis pegboard" aesthetic, if you are reading this, it means that I was too desperate to ship it, so this website might still be work in progress. Stay tunned!
  • Community: I'm still organizing monthly local dev events, currently trying to gather more sponsors (Claude Code and Codex, I'm looking at you), either way, we will never run out of v0 and Cursor meetups 🫡
  • Speaking & Open Source: Finding my way to do my first tech-talk ever, already sent a couple of emails and filled forms 👀 and continuing to maintain pokemonstats.com.
